OPUS
OPUS measures the attenuation of an ultrasonic signal directly in the process stream at multiple frequencies. The changes in the signal are used to determine the particle size distribution using a computational acoustic scattering model that takes into account particle size, concentration and the properties of the medium.
The system is designed for processes in which the suspension poses a challenge to optical measurement methods due to its high solids content. Typical applications include mineral suspensions, slurries, pigment flows and other continuous processes where reliable, real-time particle monitoring is required.
