QuickTrace® M-8000
The QuickTrace® M-8000 analysers are based on Cold Vapor Atomic Fluorescence (CVAF) technology. The instrument is very well suited for the measurement of low mercury concentrations with detection limits below 0.05 ng/l and meets the requirements of the EPA1631 method. In research and quality assurance applications, the M-8000 can also measure samples with concentrations above 400 µg/l without dilution.
The M-8000 mercury analyser supports three software-selectable modes of operation without any hardware or tube configuration changes:
1: Direct cold vapour atomic fluorescence spectroscopy (CVAFS)
2: Cold vapour atomic fluorescence spectroscopy and gold trap (CVAFS-SGTA)
3: Cold vapour atomic fluorescence spectroscopy and two gold locks (CVAFS-DGTA)
When a method is selected in software, the instrument automatically switches from one measurement mode to another as required, saving time in configuring methods and eliminating costly errors.
For analysis of low concentrations, the manufacturer recommends the use of a protective enclosure for the automatic sampler to prevent contamination. In addition, the enclosure of the automatic sampler prevents acidic vapours from entering the ambient air.
